Working to protect and expand abortion access is deeply embedded in Jewish culture and values. The principles of tikkun olam, tzedek, and b’tzelm elohim – repairing the world, justice, and that we are all created in the image of God - bring many of us to the reproductive health, rights, and justice movement. The Jewish community has the highest level of support for abortion rights of any religious community.

Yet since the terrorist attacks of October 7th, many Jews in reproductive health, rights, and justice spaces feel isolated, vulnerable, and a deep sense of despair. We see a desperate need to address the pain, complexity, and trauma of this current moment that acknowledges both the devastating harms of the Israel/Hamas war and rising antisemitism globally and in the United States. We believe it’s possible to engage in principled struggle without echoing or reinforcing harmful stereotypes about Jewish people.

We created Jews in Repro to hold our full identities, supporting the unique role of Israel in the safety and security of the Jewish people while just as strongly believing Palestinians have the same right to safety and security in a homeland of their own. We do not have all the answers, but we are committed to asking the hard questions together. We hope to build a community of curiosity, learning, and compassion for all people.
